Participatory Arts Rock!

Saturday, 10 May -ROCKING workshop open to all ages.
As I came into the space on Saturday I was visualising the project completed from the ideas and planning session we completed. This is the space where we are creating the indoor pop up garden in Gorey Public Library through a participatory public arts project.

View from under the television looking towards entrance.
We started the workshop crumpling large sheets of paper, in a previous existence the paper was used to manufacture coffee filters. This end of line paper was donated to Recreate a newwork wish and brilliant addition to the recyle reuse scene with added benefits! As a member I have access to all sorts of amazing materials for my with groups. The quality of the paper was curious.

Hands on rock painting in the library
Wet with paint and water it stretched and displayed a high rag content. Some PVA was applied to keep shapes in order where required.
I have to say the spirit in which people are engaging and returning to engage with the project is wonderful. "I'm here to help, what can I do?" lovely to hear, lovely to have adults enjoy the creative process. This has to be one of my favourite photos ever. Arts participation at its best.
Yay Rocking!
Mixing paint stirring great work!

Mums rocking it part 2
I got a lovely compliment from this Mum, she works with small kids and the Pop up Garden workshops are giving her lots of ideas! Great to hear there are more on my Pinterest boards, you know my philosophy on ideas.
Then I got a gardener and a creative to make the rockery. The addition of height was excellent. That's right no photos you have to come to Gorey Public Library or wait till I share more of the completed project...
questions!rocks for the rockery
Thanks to everyone who came and participated. Before I left the space we pulled around the boxes and visually got the the sections of the garden in order.
The project continues this week with Arts Participation with Primary Schools in Gorey town.
Photos of previous sessions are up on my FB page CreativeDynamix. Let me know which ones you like.
