Building self esteem into learning


In recent weeks I have been opening up conversations through meeting new connections, networking with associates, online social media, podcasts and blogs. Reading, listening and lurking around learning, education, training and conversation in relation to others work and my own practice. Its been an interesting couple of weeks, weaving the strands, work practices, experience and ideas, potential for future and renewed collaboration.
After taking some space not to work at the speed of light and give myself some reflective time I find myself back on a familiar trail.
Several conversations I've had link to how I construct my educational programs for children, design workshops for communities and develop experiential corporate team learning environments.
At the core is an experience of learning often of creating but always built in is connecting to inner confidence and building self esteem. Yes, even for adults. Does n't everyone design learning experiences like that? well it seems NO. I've come to understand that my insights which I use automatically to design successful learning outcomes are not automatically understood or used by others. 

Play, fun or creativity are not enough to open barriers towards learning if children or adults feel uncomfortable, think fear or cannot connect to participate. Also if participants have no experience of a positive learning environment it has to be established first, we have to provide that reference point.
Designing and thinking about engagement with participants is critical to successful outcomes. Establishing outcomes vary depending on the clients, corporate clients require more specific details easily built in to experiential learning and arts based methodologies. Inevitably its what you do with the outcome details, the recording and how you interrupt them that provides the insights. In practice setting the parameters makes the design for learning  process easier and gives more direct insights.
