This week is National Tree week in Ireland. Gorey Public Library and I are collaborating and celebrating trees. I love trees.
A very large slice of tree is scheduled to be delivered to the library where along with the local historical society we hope to identify important dates on recently fallen tree. In light of that I attended the lecture 'Gorey through the ages' an illustrated lecture with William Willoughby, NWHS Chairman on Friday night. Plenty of significant dates in the history of the town, county and Europe along with 100 significant dates in Irish history. A fascinating lecture with so much information.
We will have a digital exhibition of local sourced tree images, with or without storm damage.
Friday we are having a school event and we really are going to explore the sound of trees through the environment, arts and heritage. Please email photographs to stephanie.black@wexfordcoco.ie
