So these were the highlights
- completed create Better Space http://createbetterspace.blogspot.ie/ I learned a lot from this project and peoples reaction to it.
- experienced the AMAZING visual theater performance Waterford mapamundi sonrisa with Red Kettle Theater in Waterford and Joan Baxais. This I did to flex my creative muscle and it did.
- went to Barcelona and studied meeting other EU women involved with Art and intercultural dialogue. It was not what I expected but fell in love with Barca despite it doing the opposite of what I thought it would do to my arts practice...
- however I continue to explore themes of 'insider outsider' but have given myself time to develop the concept of a EU multi-location based collaborative project as originally imagined in this blog
- Family Support Agency Documentary and learning Techsmiths Camtasia Studio which is an amazing piece of tech and was great to work with
- working with Wicklow VEC Community Education and Brenda Delaney
# visualising and thinking @ Leading for a change, which is a fantastic approach and initiative with Wicklow and Kildare Community Education and 5 other tutors to develop an emergent community leadership program.
# exploring a creative approach to "self in the bigger picture' course, an introduction to social science with an early school school leavers group in Bray
# further to self in the big picture a closer look at self directed learning from the Bray group Bray Women visible/invisible looking at local politics, historic figures and retail enterprise
#Women of the World Arklow, building cultural communities group and personal development through the arts, an introduction to felt making and so game storming links back to Barcelona study and insider outsider project - Digital Undoc Camp - loved everything about this opportunity + being inspired by a great purpose
I know I've missed a few things like working with private clients or with 3 local public libraries Gorey, Enniscorthy and New Ross, making and selling hug tokens for sale, stuff happening that just made some great stories, social media and getting to know some great bloggers!
I have been working away on a project under a non-disclosure agreement since August 2012 it will be revealed @ 22 January - its enterprise based. It has changed the way I tweet as I have n't been able to discuss what i have been spending half my time on but... what I have learnt from this project is that - I do not have to do everything myself, working in a team is great!
Did I make great ART? For sure it was a year I questioned what I was doing, how I was paying bills and the value of my work. I changed the things that did n't work and let go... change was required it was not all easy. Me, I work with change I melt it and remold it for others - my experience last year reconnected me to a more humble approach to how difficult change can be. As it turns out all that change in 2012 was just prep work for a mega year in 2013!
Ya know what I say bring it on!
What was your great work in 2012?
If this is only a portion of what you accomplished in 2012, it was a fine year, indeed, Roisin.
ReplyDeleteI'm intrigued about your Leading for a Change project. I look forward to learning more about it.
One of my biggest projects of last year, which was actually started in 2011, was blogging daily over at www.rheumfuloftips.wordpress.com. In fact, when it ended, I missed it. I now continue to make contributions to it, but on a less frequent basis.
Happy New Year! May you embrace the change and continue to learn and grow.
Marianna what a lovely comment.
DeleteLeading for a Change was only mentioned briefly in a blog post http://creativedynamic.blogspot.ie/2012/02/discovery-and-action.html it was a very interesting session what would you like to know more about it - email me if you like or it might be a good topic for a google Hangout?
I'm looking forward to discovering more about your work too.
Kindest regards Roisin
